SERENITY now!!!

When it was on TV I watched one episode, got confused, and turned it off. I would have completely missed the Serenity boat if it wasn't for a massive sale on the DVD set that I couldn't pass up. How bad could it be? It's sci-fi, western, and maybe something else interesting? So I got it and was hooked after two episodes. Serenity by Joss Whedon is one of the best TV series I've seen...ever. As a friend of mine described West Wing to me, it's not something that you think you'll like and you end up loving.

" Joss Whedon, the Oscar® - and Emmy - nominated writer/director responsible for the worldwide television phenomena of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE, ANGEL and FIREFLY, now applies his trademark compassion and wit to a small band of galactic outcasts 500 years in the future in his feature film directorial debut, Serenity. The film centers around Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family –squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal." http://www.serenitymovie.com/
And so guess what? I've got a screening pass this coming Monday to preview it. Jealous? The trick will be to get there in time. It's an early show on a work day. Hmm...

Joss' comics are pretty good too. Highly recommend picking up one of the trades of his Astonishing X-Men.
