Who Is Innocent?

It's been a long time in coming, but the comic book "Innocent" is finally underway. The original artist for the book was D.F. Cole and then joined by Geoff. Geoff found that he was unable to commit and left after a couple months. D.F. has had some major roadblocks of his own, the last being hurricane Katrina. I received an email from D.F. saying to expect some pages by USPS, but that was right before the hurricane and he's been silent since. I hope D.F. is okay and if anyone hears from him tell him to drop me an email. The art we can replace.

I'm not going to be discouraged as this is a story that I really want to get out. It's been 15 years in the making, and Innocent is one long story. D.F.'s books are very important, but don't have to come first. So I've held off on those and we're continuing the series. If you're religious then you might see it as fact, if you don't believe in angels, demons, God, heaven or any of that hocus pocus. On the other hand, if you are a believer like me, then "Innocent" will either inspire or scare you so bad that you sleep deep under the covers. FYI...hiding unders covers won't actually save you.

With one artist gone and another missing, I've enlisted three new talents to help me get these stories out. They are some incredible new talents. Starting a new series is hard, and one as unique as "Innocent" is, it's hard for the artists to get their footing in the beginning. By grace or luck, I've found some that have been able to do that and more. Jennifer Aponte and Nando are both doing stores for #1 & #2. These are two pages from Jennifer's story...

And a peek at Nano's...

Jay Aguilera is the artist on issue #3. Each artist is chosen for their unique style and how well they fit with their particular story. "Innocent" is a living story, so I'm treating the books the same way. It's a mixture of stories and the lives the live in them. It's weaved like a tapestry, one thread at a time, but in the end I hope you'll be able to stand back and enjoy the whole. As it evolves I hope that it will help give the readers the sense of the amazing world that the characters Innocent and David live in, as do we all.
